Why won't my print screen on work?!?

So I got my laptop almost a year ago it's an HP Pavilion dv6 16.5 inches. And my print screen on won't work! It's the same on as my "home" on though. I've tried Ctrl+prt sc. I've tried Alt+prt sc. I've even tried Ctrl+Alt+prt sc! I went to Windows Home and Support and it said that it was copied to the clipboard and that I could access it with Paint which I've tried over and OVER again! It also suggested that I press alt+prt sc, which i've ALSO tried! PLEASE HELP!
