What should I do with my Friend?

We got this friend that we somehow hate, He always talks about basketball..Dang! as in Intramurals he is even already planning for next year while this school year isnt done yet and much more! also he talks non-sense, also a backstabber..when you are with him, it seems you are locked in a cage. he always wants to be accompanied by someone even if he is just going to a near place. then if you dont he will call you a killjoy. and much more, its just pretty indescribable. we also try now to avoid him but he keeps following us...what should we do?
