What can I make out of seashells?

I was going to make a gift for a 19 year old male who has never been to the town I live in. He doesn't like jewelry.

Is there anything wrong if one of my is round with a hole in the middle of it, and one is irregular?

One looks normal, but the other appears not to have a hole in it and it's kind of keyhole shaped. Could this lead to trouble feeding? I wasn't able to find anything online about it.
